Bose Recalls Dual-Voltage Cinemate II Home Theater Speaker System
If you own one of these Bose systems, please read more about this safety recall below.
These models of Bose audio Cinemate home theater speaker systems have had failures at voltages higher than U.S. norms, so they may only be a problem if you’re using them overseas. Either way, this is a safety recall due to fire hazard, so if you own one you should stop using it, unplug it, and contact Bose immediately.
Bose Corporation; toll-free (877) 354-1004, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday ET in the U.S. or 001 (508) 614-1842, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday outside the U.S., or www.bose.com/safety for more information.
Tablets easier to read than printed text
This seems really off topic for Service Care, but we all know someone (or *cough* ARE someone) who has trouble reading print up close.
This seems like a cool solution, especially now that the newspaper is… dying?
The only problem I foresee is the conversion of someone from newspaper to electronic tablet. When you’re fixed in your ways, and used to the comforting familiarity of the daily newspaper, it may be hard to make the switch.
Of course, if your eyesight is bad enough, the choice may already be made for you if you still want to read the paper.

Walmart Black Friday deals will start on... Thursday?
Walmart is going to open their Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving day at 8 pm.
Eventually, it's going to be like Christmas, with Black Friday deals starting in late August.
Be advised, it looks like most of the deals this year (at ALL retailers) will be secondary brands you're not familiar with, with unfamiliar warranty terms.
New leadership at Panasonic looks bold, tough, and just what might be needed.
Kazuhiro Tsuga, Panasonic's relatively new company president, is talking tough about the future of Panasonic, and it looks like he's not afraid to make the kind of tough decisions needed to restore prosperity despite a troubled forecast in the economy.
Cutting bonuses and expenses, and focusing on building products that people want and (crazy as it might seems) not selling them at a loss... sounds like smart thinking to us.

Panasonic has "Raise The Bar" tour of 2012 product line.
Panasonic has announced a seven-week tour of "major" cities in the United States and Canada to promote their 2012 line of new home appliances, home entertainment products, personal care products and digital imaging.
The U.S. tour will begin in Los Angeles and Boston, go through San Francisco and New York Grand Central Terminal, and will wrap up in Buford, Georgia.
Buford. Georgia. I don't know much about Buford, but I think it's awesome that the tour winds down to a quaint little southern town. Coast-to-Coast-to-Buford. Love it.

Consumer confidence? Electronics, Yes. Economy... Not so much.
It looks like we're excited about the future of electronics, and have confidence in the products that will be delivered (which I guess extends to the industry as a whole).
Hopefully some of this will improve things all around.

LG Electronics' high expectations indicate U.S. economic improvement?
LG Electronics, the third largest mobile phone maker, is experiencing an 8 month high in trading and profitability expectations. Some indicators show that this could be a reflection of improvements in the outlook of U.S. and other "advanced markets".
Here's hoping it's getting better.

This Valentine's Day, skip the roses and buy her electronics?
It looks like the ladies have been equally as gadget conscious as the fellas, at least according to a recent study of men and women in relation to electronics desirability.
Interesting... such much for candy and flowers.

The "people costs" of cheap electronics
An interesting article, really makes you think, about how we enjoy our electronics at relatively low prices through the horrible working conditions of Chinese electronics factories.
Seems like we could find a nice middle ground:

B-52 Prodigy Dual CD-MP3 Player DJ Workstation
Ordinarily, we work on televisions and appliances, some electronics like audio decks and components, printers and computers, etc.
Every once in a while, and we wish it happened more often, we get to work on something really different. Of course, I can't reveal any details (we have to protect our customer's privacy) but I don't see the harm in mentioning the product itself.
The B-52 Prodigy is basically a DJ setup, all-in-one, in a tough metal carrying case. It's even got two turntable like devices that I assume are for "scratching" mp3 recordings. Very cool looking.
I'm not putting on a sales pitch, of course, we just service (no sales). But it was fun having it here, and I hope it makes a lot of people happy.
It's working great now, and I assume it will be the centerpiece of a party at some time in the future.
(This is an open call to musicians! Give us a call for service).
