Funny article about the future of laundry
There are a number of new innovations coming to the world of consumer laundry (i.e. washers and dryers), and some of them are pretty cool.
Some are a little less useful, but at least they are trying to update this really old technology with some fancy new features.
Congratulations to LG, Electrolux, GE, Maytag, Bosch and Samsung for updating laundry technology with steam, nanotechnology, green tech and savings.

U.S. to impose duties on Samsung/LG/Electrolux refrigerator/freezers
Stemming originally from a complaint from Whirlpool Corp. to the U.S. International Trade Commission, these duties are a reaction to discounted appliances being brought in from Mexico and South Korea.
Samsung and LG contest the decision and the logic behind it.

"Smart" appliances slightly closer to reality.
The idea of cool appliances that tell you when you're out of milk or that it has expired, or save you energy by working with the power company's smart meters to use the cheapest electricity is a really cool idea...
but it's been a slow-to-start idea.
Experts suggest that things should be picking up soon, with companies like LG, Samsung, BSH (Bosch and Thermador), Electrolux and Whirlpool planning for higher sales in the future on smart refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers and other appliances.
