Bose Recalls Dual-Voltage Cinemate II Home Theater Speaker System

If you own one of these Bose systems, please read more about this safety recall below.

These models of Bose audio Cinemate home theater speaker systems have had failures at voltages higher than U.S. norms, so they may only be a problem if you’re using them overseas. Either way, this is a safety recall due to fire hazard, so if you own one you should stop using it, unplug it, and contact Bose immediately.

Samsung's vacuum tube mahogany audio dock for your phone looks gooood.

This a pretty, pretty device that will have audiophiles smiling. It looks very nice for an audio dock for your ipad, iphone or other phone... and it's supposed to sound really good too.

It's expensive though, so you'll have to really care about sound to want this.

Samsung launches high-end audio line with vacuum tubes

How about that. Samsung is coming out with a line of audio equipment with vacuum tubes. That's some old-school goodness right there. Obviously this is aimed at the audiophile market, which I assume still exists, since everyone else carries their stereo in their back pocket these days.

Yamaha's Doan Hoff retires. (Gets a cool stereo cake).

Doan Hoff was the manager for Yamaha's advertising and PR for 33 years, and has retired. I'm mainly posting this because of the cool audio receiver cake he got at his party. That's really amazing looking!
