Toshiba to halt domestic television production, as has Hitachi

In light of falling prices (and falling profits), electronics giant Toshiba has halted domestic production of televisions and will focus on more profitable ventures with an eye to double their operating profit by 2014-2015.

Together, Toshiba and Samsung dominate the world market for NAND Flash chips, many of which are used in Apple iPhones.
