Upcoming Birmingham Weather

Do you think we'll see any real icy weather this week in Birmingham?

There's usually a magic line which hovers right above Birmingham, robbing us of winter goodness, but this year has been a little different.

Who knows, Birmingham, we might get some more snow!

(I doubt it).

Spanakopita at Nabeel's in Homewood, Alabama

Holy moly that was delicious.

If you like cooked spinach, you've got to try the Spanakopita (Spinach Pie) at Nabeel's in Homewood. (If you don't like cooked spinach, this might change your mind).

Phyllo dough crust (I think it's the same kind of crust in Baklava), Feta cheese, Spinach cooked in a consitency that frankly was a lot like cake... Homer Simpson style drooling....

What a surprise, and what a great main dish this was. So full at the end, and I'd just eaten some of the healthiest pie in the world. Awesome.

Find a great place to eat in Birmingham, Alabama

I personally like Bhamdining.com for finding out what's delicious and where it is. Worth checking out if you're planning a meal and want to find something new and awesome. Good for Birmingham eaters, I say.

Visit the Birmingham Museum of Art

The Birmingham Museum of Art is worth a trip, you should go this weekend!

Visit Birmingham Museum of Art web site to check it out.

Admission is usually free, and they're closed on Mondays & major holidays.

The reviews online look positive, and for a smaller town like Birmingham we've got some respectable collections.

Step out of your cubicle and put some beauty in your brain, you've looked at enough paperwork this week.

Go to the Birmingham Zoo!

It's been years since I've been (once on a date), but I have very fond memories of the Birmingham Zoo.

I remember being fascinated by the monkeys, intimidated by the peacocks for some reason, and wishing I could meet the elephants.

Go to Birmingham Zoo web site to check it out. Also found some Birmingham Zoo Pictures here, it looks like fun.

Birmingham News online (link)

Apparently you can check out the Birmingham News, Birmingham Alabama's largest paper (as far as I know) at http://www.al.com/birminghamnews/

Pretty cool, for Birmingham residents to read (some?) of the paper online, but also for natives who go abroad to far, far destinations to keep in touch with all our local Birmingham stuff.

2011 - Please review your experience at Service Care (Here's why)

We need satisfied customers to review us online, because your voice is not being heard.

It's a fact.

Happy people generally do not respond to surveys about the service received. They normally don't write letters about positive experiences, and rarely go online to tell the story of how they were satisfied.

As a rule, the people that do respond to surveys and reviews are people who are unhappy, and are posting out of frustration and the desire to point a bad light at the company that they feel has treated them poorly. This is their right, and we support it, but we feel the happy customer is under-represented.

What this means, in a nutshell, is that if you make 99 out of 100 people very happy, but fail to do so on the the 100th, then you will end up with a single bad review and no positive reviews from the 99.

Why is that?

It's just human nature. A satisfied person is relaxed and happy, they are the opposite of agitated, aggressive, determined. They are at peace, and they know that we know it. When a person feels that all is right with the world, they don't see that there is anything that needs to be done, because it's all right... right?

We agree, there's nothing that needs to be done. You called for service, we provided that service, done deal.

But we sure would be ever so greatful if you could tell the world about your positive experience, because your opinion is important, too.

We think you are awesome, and we certainly hope you think we are awesome, but no one will know if you don't share your story (even briefly) online.

Also, we get darn excited when we find a new review. Really!

Thank you!

Happy New Year 2011 from Service Care!

We here at Service Care are looking forward to a brand new year, as we plan for the changes and obstacles that will come throughout the year. We're expecting new and better this year, and hope that everyone experiences a positive turn to the economy and their personal situation. I'm hopeful for improvement, but mainly just glad that I get to work with such great people as my fellow Service Careians and the good people that allow us to come into their homes and solve their TV and Appliance problems.

Thanks to everyone for 2010, and thank you in advance for 2011, you folks are the best!
