Delicious way to help cure cancer? Yep.

Robin Howell at La Reunion Coffee in Helena can’t bake her giant cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls fast enough this week.
Robin Howell at La Reunion Coffee in Helena can’t bake her giant cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls fast enough this week.
La Reunion and a long list of other restaurants have banded together with the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center for the Sweet on a Cure fundraiser.
Through Nov. 15, participating restaurants will provide 100 percent of their proceeds from select desserts cancer research.

Shelby County Offering Blood Money
What a provocative title, eh?
It's actually much nicer than that title makes it sound.
This weekend and next month, the American Red Cross is holding blood drives at four locations in Alabaster and Columbiana. The fun part is, in a show of thanks for donors, there will be prizes given away to a few lucky donors.
They are pretty good prizes, and you can read about them here:

Yep, it's the "Taste of Shelby County" event raising money for schools by feeding you delicious foods. Actually, it sounds really good. Mmmmm.

Vestavia residents can take their dogs out to dinner
A local pet boutique in Vestavia is supported Two By Two Animal Rescue with a charity spaghetti dinner for dogs and their owners on August 22.
