Award available for Alabama artists
This is not particularly germane to the subject matter of this blog, but as a resident of Alabama and a friend of several artists, I thought this would be appropriate to post:
Elizabeth and Mallory Factor Prize for Southern Art
It's open to a number of Southern states, and is an award for an artist (for new or existing work) "whose work contributes to a new understanding of the South."
Hopefully it's a positive understanding, with a look to the future. But that's just my hope, not a requirement of the award. It's a $10,000 dollar cash prize, so you Alabama artists get cracking.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I am interested in this contest and would love to find the info for entering. I read briefly their information but maybe missed where the applications are. Any photos of mine that you think would fit this award? The prize money would definitely send me back to Paris with a bang! HA
